MinGW-w64 Compiler
You can use the MinGW-w64 compiler to build MEX files and standalone MATLAB® engine and MAT-file applications. To install the compiler, use the Add-Ons menu described in Get and Manage Add-Ons. However, it will not allow to select plugins / features to install (it includes everything) and not create any menu shortcuts.
Building yprime.c Example
You can test the MinGW® compiler by building the yprime.c example. Copy the source file to a writable folder.
If you only have the MinGW compiler installed on your system, the mex command automatically chooses MinGW. Go to the next step. However, if you have multiple C or C++ compilers, use mex -setup to choose MinGW.
Build the MEX file.
MATLAB displays a “Building with” message showing what compiler was used to build the MEX file.
Run the function.

If you have MEX source files built with a different MATLAB-supported compiler, you might need to modify the code to build with the MinGW compiler. For example:

mexErrMsgIdAndTxtfunction from C++ MEX files, resulting in memory leak.An uncaught exception in C++ MEX files compiled with MinGW causes MATLAB to crash.
MEX files with variables containing large amounts of data cannot be compiled, as the compiler runs out of memory.

I am installing the MinGW-w64 C/C++ compiler for use in MATLAB 20176b but there is several errors for that. How can install this compiler with all the necessary adjustments to use in Matlab 2016b?
As the first way directly from Matlab:

After running true Matlab and approval for installation and installing the packages, it gives an error as:

The second approach is to install the MinGW-w64 C/C++ compiler separately and then adjust to use in Matlab. But After installation Matlab doesn't recognize it.

The details provided on Matlab not recognizing the MinGW installation are a bit vague, but I'll take a shot at it.

When installing MinGW, the default installation directory is one with spaces in the path (Program Files). For some reason, this is not supported by Matlab (https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/matlab_external/compiling-c-mex-files-with-mingw.html):

I know there is a boot option on my bios screen that shows my dvd drive as uefi and when I boot from it, it takes me right back to my bios screen and I have to choose to boot from my other option witch is my dvd drive again without the uefi part on the listing. I have no idea if my system is uefi or what.
In my situation, I installed MinGW directly on the C drive. As such, my installation directory has the following layout:
C:mingw64
- C:mingw64bin
- C:mingw64etc
- C:mingw64*..
Once that is installed, all you need to do is point Matlab to the installation directory, in my case, I need to run the following command:
After that, you should be squared away to run the mex compilation command.
